Cana : "Finish off the job in Marseille"

Going into the game against Brann with a one goal lead, Lorik Cana remains wary. "We have to remain vigilant and respectful of our adversary" he says before adding that OM have " given ourselves a good chance of qualifying".

How are you feeling going into this match?
The week has been difficult, taking into consideration what has happened around the club. We’re trying to stay concentrated on the matches that are coming up and Wednesday’s game is capital as we all know the importance of a qualification to the Champions League. We know what is at stake and we are ready to get past this obstacle.

OM are favourites for the return leg. Is this a handicap?
I prefer being in our position than that of Brann. We have to assume our status as favourites. We did in the first leg and put in a serious performance. There are no easy matches but we played well and gave ourselves a good chance of qualifying. But nothing is over yet, there are still at least 90 minutes to be played and we have to finish off the job in Marseille.

What do you fear from this Brann Bergen side?
If we are in form and play well, we will be able to avoid an upset against an opponent that merits to be where they are and who showed some good football in the first leg   That’s why we have to remain vigilant and respectful of our adversary as they have shown they have qualities. What is important is to focus on our game.

Do you feel that the team is making progress?
Slowly but surely we are eradicating our errors. I think we can still progress 30 or 40 %, as far as our play is concerned. We haven’t let our opponents have too many opportunities and that is good when you are playing away from home. There are still some errors that we can avoid but the team spirit is very good. On top of that, a loty of players are in form, the coach has more than eleven players that he can count on, which is a good thing considering the number of matches we have to play. As the season goes on, we will get better.
