An agreement has been reached this Londay afternoon for the signing of Fernando Morientes.
Didier Deschamps wanted to strengthen his attacking sector. He has now done just that with the arrival of Fernando Morientes. The Spanish forward with an impressive amount of winners medals to his name, should sign a two year contract with Marseille after the traditional medical visit on Tuesday.
Three Champions League, two Liga titles, one Spanish Cup, one FA Cup and a European Super Cup to his name, 142 goals scored in the top division (Spanish, French and English), 44 goals in Europe (39 in the Champions League, 2 in the Cup Winners Cup and 3 in the UEFA Cup) and 27 goals in 47 matches with the Spanish national side. His cv would render a great deal of players jealous. At 33 years of age, Fernando Morientes is still a great goal scorer, efficient in front of goal, very good in the air and always in the right place at the right time.
