Without their latest recruits and after two defeats, OM want to get back to winning ways at the Vélodrome against Lorient and really get their season started.

If the week has been hectic, OM will once again be playing an important match this week-end. Without Loïc Remy nor André-Pierre Gignac (voir par ailleurs) and Mbia but with the return to business of the "Gladiator" Brandao, the Olympians must open their account in the L1. The two initial poor results are now history and the arrival of Lorient at the Vélodrome this Saturday should be where they bounce back. "It will not be easy as we lost our first two games, but there will be no excuses, the coach explained during the week, even if we had no worries, it would not have guaranteed different results against Caen and Valenciennes. But I trust the players who will be there trying to get a very good result."
Transfers in progress, a lot of injuries, events are not really going the way the champions would have wished, but the team’s main concern is and must remain the competition. "Whatever happens, my goals are attainable on the field and we must get the most out of the players" confirmed the coach who has enjoyed this time a full week of work at the Robert Louis-Dreyfus training center. "We have worked together every day. The group gets on well together, there is no worry about that and we must do what we can to turn things around."
"I trust the players to go out and get a good result"
Faced with a Breton side who are not in great form, the idea would be to find the values which OM possessed last year.
They need to show serious, control of the ball and a perfect state of mind, just like the Brazilian striker who will return after his long term suspension. Back to basics in a certain sense "gaining pleasure through victory, is the most important" says the coach. They are in need of launching the season and recover their first valuable points.
Didier Deschamps summarizes: "We can do better in our content and outcome. This is match three, against Lorient, and the need for points on a mathematical level is undeniable. In this context, it is important that players focus uniquely on the game." Pending the help that the new attacking recruits will bring them.
