Vincent Gragnic: “A great satisfaction”

Vincent Gragnic has signed with OM for a duration of 3 years. The 23-yo attacking midfielder, signed from Libourne (L2), describes himself as “quick and skilful”.
I’m really stoked to come to Marseille. It’s one of the biggest clubs in France , it’s a great satisfaction.
When was contact first made between OM and Libourne?
It was back in December. The OM directors came to see me play 2 or 3 times. They liked what they saw.
Mathieu Valbuena handed OM Champions League qualification last week. He also came from Libourne Saint-Seurin. Have you had a chance to talk yet?
No, because I arrived at Libourne last year, after he had already gone to Marseille. We’ve only met in passing but I’m happy for him after what has happened this season.
At Libourne, there were some Marseille players such as Fabrice Begeorgi and Thomas Déruda. Did you talk with them about OM?
I get along really well with those guys, especially Thomas, and it’s true they advised me to come here. My adaptation here will be much easier if they are brought back to stay.
You will go from Libourne (Ligue 2) to Marseille (Ligue 1), which will be playing in the Champions League. What do you make of this giant step?
It’s awesome to come to France’s biggest club. It’s a huge step. Now it’s up to me to prove that they were right to come looking for me.
Have you fixed any goals for yourself yet? Have you spoken with Albert Emon?
No, I haven’t had a chance to talk with the manager. That should happen in the next couple of days. In terms of objectives, we’ll see how it goes and I’ll try to give the maximum. We’ll see what the future holds for us.
Without meaning any offence to the Libourne fans, there aren’t as many of them as there are at the Vélodrome. Are you apprehensive? What do you think it will be like?
It’s true it’ll be a huge change. To be encouraged by 60,000 fans is really motivating and a big plus for the players.
For those who don’t know you, you’re a midfielder. How would you describe yourself?
I’m 23 and an attacking midfielder who can play on the left, on the right or in the middle. I’m quick and skilful. Marseille chose me for these qualities and I really want to do something big here.
