Pape Diouf on the current transfer action

23/06/07 - Transfer market

At the unveiling of the new OM recruits (Gaël Givet, Benoît Cheyrou and Laurent Bonnart), the OM President spoke about the other current transfer action.

STABILITY

For several years we have been in a reconstruction phase with a view to long-term stability, which we are achieving by always maintaining the essential parts of our team. The players we have signed will flesh out the team and bring their qualities to the framework.
There may still be one or two arrivals. But the bottom line is we’ve signed the players we wanted, and they wanted to come to Marseille.

LUDOVIC GIULY AND KARIM ZIANI

We’re still in negotiations over these two players, and I am yet to come to a definitive agreement with Sochaux. We’re doing what we can, and things are progressing, but it’s hard to see the matter coming to a head before the beginning of next week. But we have reached an agreement with the player; it’s with President Plessis that we are still in negotiation.
It would be premature to say we’ll get both players at the same time, but well do everything we can to find the best solution for the team.

DJIBRIL CISSE

I hope to find an adequate solution during the next week. It is our desire to keep Djibril Cissé and his to stay with us. All that’s left is to convince the Liverpool directors, which isn’t so easy even though relations between the clubs are excellent.
We certainly want to clear the matter up as soon as possible.

DEPARTURES

Bostjan Cesar is already on the transfer list and as for Renato Civelli, we want to keep him. But we can understand that a player must be able to express the desire to have more important game time and we’re listening to him.
Fabrice Fiorèse has also been put on the transfer list.
