Karim Ziani (24 years old | fact file) is officially an Olympien. Arriving at the Commanderie in the morning, the attacking midfielder from Sochaux passed his medical before signing his contract. The Algerian international is now linked to Olympique Marseille for 4 years.
After debuting in L1 at Troyes, where he played alongside Mamadou Niang, Karim Ziani then played with Lorient in L2 before his talents took him to Sochaux last season. An incisive midfielder with a strong passing game, OM’s 6th recruit of the off-season id often decisive in matches, scoring 8 goals last season.
After his arrival in Marseille this week and his presentation to the press on Thursday afternoon, he will meet up with the squad at the training camp in Capbreton on July 7, the same as the other African internationals who took part on the CAN qualifiers.
