3 questions for… Matt Moussilou

13/09/07 - OM-TFC

Before the visit of Toulouse, Matt Moussilou takes stock of the work done during the international break and discusses the importance getting a win on Saturday, ahead of the Champions League next week.

After the 2-week international break, how are you preparing for the match against Toulouse at the Vélodrome on Saturday?
We worked really well during the break, in high spirits. We worked on the basics, as we’re the matches, including the Champions League, are coming thick and fast. We got down to the basics both technically and tactically.

What’s important about the Toulouse match?
There are several things. First, we haven’t won at the Vélodrome yet and we also want to build our confidence ahead of the Champions League. We’re preparing for it and we know it’ll be a huge match. We all have to perform well to gain in confidence. We’re really about to get into the thick of it.

The mental approach will be crucial…
That’s for sure, we’re preparing for some really tough tests. We’ll be playing a match every 3 days and the whole squad will have to be tough mentally so we can step up on every occasion. We’re playing so often that I think everyone will get a chance. But we have to take the matches as they come and stay vigilant. On Saturday, we’ll have to impose our game and show that we’ve really hit our straps to finally get our league campaign under way and give ourselves the best chance in the Champions League.
