Stars all over the place, incredible technical gestures a go go, goals, fun and a public of 20.000 that had come out for the gala organised by Fabio Celestini for his association «4-4-2 foundation» was a real success. To name but a few, Zidane, Raul, Ravanelli, the Cantona brothers, Francescoli, Laudrup, Anderson, Lizarazu and Pirès, all the stars were out for everyone to see on the pitch in Geneva. If you add to that list names like Cana, Zenden, Boli, Amoros and many others, you’ll get an idea of how impressive everything was. And even if the older players were a bit slower than they used to be, the technique was still there as proved by Zidane scoring and setting people up or Francescoli or Cantona, as elegant as ever. The players still in activity also showed some good form like the Madrid player Raul who scored 3 goals for the «4-4-2 team» against the «OM all stars» or the young OM player Sabo who fired in a rocket shot at the end of the game. A great atmosphere where there were a few Mexican waves and where rap from Marseille was represented by Shuriken from the group IAM who played a few minutes for OM and his colleague Kephren who kicked the game off  !
This first event for the «4-4-2 foundation» was a complete success. It should allow them to collect funds needed to finance a number of projects. The first concerns the club FC Renens, where Fabio Celestini learnt his trade, for who the Swiss international wants to contribute to the financement of a synthetic playing surface. The foundation 4-4-2 will also be supporting two other projects : in collaboration with the Unesco section of Getafe,buying goals for a football school in Cuba, and materials for two neighbourhoods of Rio de Janeiro.
