Who will be OM's Player of the Year?

As is tradition, OM.net offers you the chance to elect the Player of the Year for the season that has just finished. Here is a look at the candidates.

5 times elected « OM player of the month  » (August, September, October, February and March), Steve Mandanda is a strong favourite. The keeper received the distinction from the journalists of La Provence, as well as their readers.
A first season full of promise for the goalkeeper, who was called up to the 30 man French squad on Sunday by Raymond Domenech in order to prepare for the Euro.
Mamadou Niang also received the votes of the readers of OM.net on a number of occasions. Elected in November and December, OM’s top goal scorer this year, has played the best season of his career so far.
Voted for twice, in April and May, Samir Nasri has some flattering statistics behind him. With 6 goals and 10 decisive passes, the midfielder has had his most effective season for OM, even though he played 7 games less than in the 2006/07 season. This was because of a serious injury he picked up during the summer and the meningitis he suffered from.
Player of the month in January, Djibril Cissé stamped his mark on 2008. Scoring 14 goals in the League in only 4 and a half months.
And finally, even if they never came in first over the season, Mathieu Valbuena and Benoît Cheyrou were often on the podium. The first was perhaps the revelation of the season, while the second confirmed his worth. We could also mention Laurent Bonnart, Lorik Cana and Taye Taiwo, who all finished at some point in the top three. It’s up to you. The poll is accessible on the right hand side of the site.
