The Olympiens were back at the Commanderie for the resumption of training on Monday morning. Before the first full session at the end of the day, we captured these images.
At 10 o’clock this morning the Olympiens returned to the Commanderie to begin their preparations for next season. It was also a chance for the players, old and new, to meet up and discuss the challenges to come.
The new recruits (V. Gragnic, J. Faty, Be. Cheyrou, G. Givet, L. Bonnart) were thrown into the mix with the rest of the squad to receive their kits in the changing rooms at the training centre. The internationals weren’t there however, but are expected back at the beginning of July.
At 10:30, it was time for individual medical visits, followed by treatments. At 18:00 the first full training session took place before the squad was presented to the press.

Ronald Zubar and Mathieu Valbuena meet up. Ditto for former Monegasques Julien Rodriguez and Gaël Givet.

“It’s great to see my team-mates and the Commanderie again,” said Mathieu Valbuena, all smiles, “a new season is getting under way, and with happy results, I hope.”

“Coming back to Marseille, it’s indescribable,” explained Jacques Faty, here seen with Mamadou Niang. “Now we have to show what we can do out on the field,” he added.
