3 questions for… Jacques Faty

05/12/07 - OM-Monaco

Jacques Faty and the OM squad are preparing for Saturday’s visit by Monaco. “We really want to put on a good performance,” announces the OM defender.

How is the squad ahead of Monaco’s visit?
The squad is in good shape and very enthusiastic in their work at training. But the only real truth comes in competition so we’re doing our best to prepare for Saturday.

What are the strong points of this Monaco team?
Monaco has lots of big attackers, notably Ludovic Piquionne and Jan Koller. They’re both really good on the ball. Thanks to Ricardo, Monaco’s game has become a lot tighter. It won’t be easy but we owe it to ourselves to win.

Can this be considered a key match for OM?
There’ll be lots of key match this season but this one is very important especially because it’s a few days out from our big game against Liverpool. With three more points we’ll be able to climb up the table but on the other hand a loss will send us back to the relegation zone. So we have to give it everything we’ve got and win all our home games.
On top of that, we’ll have the advantage of playing in front of our fans. We all want to play as well as Mamadou Niang has been lately, he’s been in red-hot form.
