Coming on in the second half against Toulouse, the OM midfielder brought impact, pace and movement to the play of his team.
From your first touch of the ball against Toulouse, there was a feeling that you had really decided to bring something to the team …
I tried to bring a bit of pace to the game and to try and break them down as the match had been pretty tight up until then. When you play attacking football you have to try and break past your opponents and create overlaps. We tried to do just that and attacked as a unit. We conceded a first goal which really hurt us. Happily enough we equalized but the second Toulouse goal shot us down in full flight. It’s a shame as we were playing well at that point.
This is the third match in a row in which OM have gone behind but have found the necessary resources to get back into the game …
It’s the strength of a great side. When I was at Lyon, we often managed to turn games around. It’s the sign that OM are a great side.
The former OL player is well placed to analyse the end of the season for Claude Puel’s men. « Lyon are going through a rough period. It happens to all clubs but for them, there is more emphasis. They haven’t been in great form this season, but next year they will be back to their best ».
With a little more time before the match against Nice, will the preparation for the match be any different?
No, we will have to be just as vigilant and remain as concentrated as ever. We have to take this match seriously as the next four games will determine where the title goes. We will do all we can to prepare in the best possible manner, we have ten days to do so. We must win our last four matches if we want to be champions.
