Despite the heightened competition due to OM's dealings in the transfer market, Charles Kaboré, a promising element in the Marseille squad, is full of confidence going into his third season with the club.
Over the course of last season, Kaboré proved his worth as a defensive midfielder on numerous occasions. During pre-season, it has been at the post of right full-back that he has had the chance to shine in the absence of Laurent Bonnart and Garry Bocaly, both out injured. : « I am here to serve the team », he reminds us.This is an opportunity for him to show what he can do despite the large recruitment OM have made in regards to their midfield. This situation does not worry the player from Burkino Faso who has shown great motivation in the face of this heightened competition for places : « It’s true that we have a lot of great players with a lot more experience than me, and that is a good thing for the team. But, I’m still here and I’m going to fight and try to win a place in the side ».
The arrival of players like Edouard Cissé, Stéphane M’Bia or Lucho Gonzalez could limit the playing time of this young man looking to gain experience. The midfielder is very pragmatic about the situation, he is well aware of the advantages of playing alongside such seasoned players: « It can only help me to progress. In training you have to lift your game to prove that you are not there just by good luck. As I have always said since I arrived here, I have to keep training and working hard in order to make myself a better player ».
