M. Niang: “It paid off at the end”

My thoughts are with Toifilou Maoulida. He went to his mother’s bedside after she passed away this afternoon. We thought of him all through the match and it was fitting to honour him at the end. It was a tight match, and Le Mans could easily have won, they even hit the post, there were chances for both sides but it paid off in the end. That meant we avoided the Russian roulette of a penalty shootout. Our win also means we can recover more quickly to prepare for the game against Auxerre on Wednesday.
