Labrune: 'We'll calmly take stock'

Olympique de Marseille president Vincent Labrune spoke with the daily newspaper 'La Provence' on Thursday after Tuesday's 2-0 loss to Evian-TG. He revealed he will be speaking to the players ahead of Friday's trip to Ajaccio (20:00 CET). "I'm going to sit down calmly with the players and take stock of the situation," he explained. "Believe me, I won't be overreacting and screaming disaster and crisis, that's not my style. Yes, we're eight points off third place and it will be very difficult for us to get there, but at the same time, we are OM. We have a certain status, we have quality players and a quality club. Because of that, we'll be doing everything within our power to do as well as possible.

"In terms of our performances, we could still have as many as 20 matches to play this season. The players are aware of the situation: they still have many exciting challenges ahead of them this term. We have to show our true colours, show what we can do. We have already done it once this season, back in October," he added.
