No Game, but a Long and Intense Practice28 feb 2016
The postponement of the game against Ajaccio didn't mean the Olympiens got a break. Michel and his team left Corsica at 1:30 pm to return to the mainland. Arriving an hour later in Marignane, they took a minibus to the training center and immediately went to the Robert Louis-Dreyfus Center.
Starting at 3:30 pm, the 18 players Michel had assembled for the trip to Ajaccio went out onto the "lower" field of the complex. The field was very slippery due to the rain in the last few days.
After a standard warm-up followed by a game of keep-away, the Olympiens performed a ball retention exercise. They then had an exercise in front of the goal, defended alternatively by Steve Mandanda and Yohann Pelé. All of the players made passes, returns, run-ups and kicks.
To end the session, the technical staff set up a game on a smaller field. Three teams played each other.
The practice, which lasted more than an hour and a half, took place in a good mood but with a lot of intensity. The Olympiens are already looking forward to the Coupe de France quarterfinals against Granville, Thursday at 9 pm at the Michel D’Ornano Stadium in Caen.
