For the first time since his arrival at OM, Abou Diaby played an entire game. Statistics for the midfielder’s performance against Sochaux during the semi-final of the Coupe de France 2015-16 (0-1).

Twelve minutes against Rennes in March (2-5), fifty-five at Bastia fifteen days later (2-1) and eighty-six against Sochaux this Wednesday (0-1), a first since February 2013 with Arsenal against, Abou Diaby is getting better.
Physically, obviously, but also in his level of influence on OM’s game. The midfielder demonstrated his skill in the Doubs, perfectly managing both ups and downs, playing with his tactical intelligence and technical skill to get out of tough situations and guide his team’s game.
For example, he is the Olympien who made the most passes at Auguste-Bonal Stadium (64), 30 of which were in the middle of the other team’s territory, more than any other player on the field.
Positioned in front of the defense next to Alaixys Romao, he was one of the players to be tackled the most (3) and used his 9.1 meters to win his 2 aerial duels.
Even though he showed some signs of fatigue in the last half hour, notably when he made the mistake of offering a dangerous free kick to the Sochaliens at the end of the game following a loss of control., Abou Diaby showed that he is now a player who is 100% committed to OM. As proof, the best description came from him: “I feel like a new player ,” he said when describing the game. Let it be said that Abou Diaby is becoming more important to OM and we’re happy with that.
