Steve Mandanda was chosen by his peers as the “best goalie in Ligue 1” for the 2015-16 season. This is the 4th time in his career that the Olympien goalie has received the UNFP trophy in this category.

A “Phenomenal” Mandanda! After 2008, 2011 and 2015, Steve Mandanda, 31 years old, has once again been chosen best goalie in Ligue 1 by his fellow players.
It is only natural considering the Olympien goalie and captain’s exceptional season, as the following sequences demonstrate.
While receiving his prize, during the 25th Trophy ceremony UNFP, Steve Mandanda didn’t hide his satisfaction. With a touch of humor, he said, “I would like to thank all of the voters and I congratulate all the nominees. It’s an honor to be chosen when you look at the skill of the other goalies. I would also like to thank Stéphane Cassard, who I’ve worked with every day for two days and with whom I’ve shared the good and bad moments. I would also like to thank my teammates without whom I wouldn’t have worked so hard, even if it seemed like too much for me, it is thanks to them that I have this trophy today.
