Located northeast of Porto, not too far from Braga where OM had gone into the group stage in 2015-16, the city of Guimarães has played host to Vitoria Sporte Club since September 22nd 1922. Despite being 95 years old, the Portuguese club has only two trophies, one cup from Portugal in 2013 (for 7 finals played) and one Supercup from Portugal in 2017.
Last season, Vitoria SC finished 4 th in the Portuguese championship behind the unstoppable trio Benfica-Porto-Sporting and thus directly qualified for the group stage of the Europa League. They were also unlucky runners-up of the cup against Benfica.
After three days of the 2017-18 championship,Vitoria SC is in 10 th position with 3 points (1 victory and 2 defeats).
OM and Vitoria Guimaraes have never met before, so this will be a first.
