Like the other two opponents of its group (Salzburg and Vitoria SC), OM has never crossed paths with Konyaspor ever before. Located 200 kilometres south of Ankara, Konya is a Turkish city in the Central Anatolia region, with a population of almost one million people.
Konyaspor, the football club, is much more recent. Founded in 1981, the club was promoted to the Super Lig, the first Turkish division, at the end of the 2012-2013 season.
In its green and white colours, the club this year has gone up in the rankings list, winning the cup and Turkey Supercup in 2017, successfully obtaining its first qualification in Europa League (what's more, directly to the group stage) of its entire history.
After two days, Konyaspor is currently in seventh place in the Turkish league, with one victory and one defeat.
