OM keep up the pace

Since their home defeat against Rennes, OM has been unbeatable. Better still, the Olympians are keeping the same pace as the Parisian leaders.


During the 4th and 5th days of Ligue 1, OM had two consecutive defeats, 6-1 to Monaco and 1-3 at home against Rennes. At one time, the Olympians were heading for a 10th place ranking. But since then, they have recovered their position in the championship. Indeed, Rudi Garcia and his men followed up with a run of 7 unbeaten games consisting of 5 wins and 2 draws. This run of positive results has propelled the Marseille club from 10th to 4th position . The Olympians even took the third step on the podium on the evening of their success in Nice (2-4, 8th day).


In addition to their rise in the rankings, above all it's the pace the Marseille team have maintained that really deserves to be highlighted. Over the period from 6th to 12 th day, they gleaned 17 points, which is equal to that of PSG . No other team has done better: Monaco and Nantes have gained 16 each and Lyon, 14.


With 21 goals scored in these seven games, OM also has the fourth best record in attack for this period behind Lyon (21), Paris and Monaco (20). OM also has the fourth best record in attack for the entire season with 26 goals.


Moreover, Rudi Garcia's team is the only team to have scored at least one goal in the first twelve days of Ligue 1 2017-2018.
