In February 2018, the first conversations took place between the President of the Mediterranean Football League (LMF), Eric Borghini, and the OM President, Jacques-Henri Eyraud. Since then, a plan of action has been put in place. The first step concerns the young people from the Olympic Training Center who, with the Adult Training Center, can pass the Football Monitor Certificate (BMF).

Another major operation took place against Lyon. During this meeting Olympique de Marseille paid 2 euros per ticket sold (excluding season ticket members). The sum collected (51,000 euros) will be donated to amateur Mediterranean football. It will be used for material endowment to amateur clubs, women's football, refereeing and BMF training in amateur clubs.

Starting next season, the Mediterranean derbies — OM-Monaco and OM-Nice — will be dedicated to the licensees of the Mediterranean League with special ticketing operations.

The OM and LMF collaboration is now fully engaged and active. The intricate links allow large-scale operations.

"I salute the excellent plans set in motion by OM to amateur football in the OM Next Generation project. I would also like to highlight the excellent relations with Jacques-Henri Eyraud and the quality of the project carried by the new governance.”
