Hiroki Sakai is quick as an arrow on the pitch so we sat him down for a high-speed interview. The questions are lightening paced, and the answers too. The Japanese international is free! Let's go.

The first thing you do in the morning ...
As soon as I wake up, I read my emails.

Your favorite french word ...
I would say it's the word “victoire" (victory).

The French word that you still can not pronounce ...
I really have trouble pronouncing "grenouille" (frog).

What makes you happiest ...
I love spending time with family and playing with my daughter.

The favorite image on your phone ...
All the ones with my family.

What makes you angry ...
I often get angry when I'm driving. People's bad behavior gets on my nerves. Especially when drivers endanger others.

Your last lie ...
I do not remember anymore (laughs).

Your nickname when you were a kid ...
The “Big Pole" I was skinny enough (laughs).

Your idol in football ...
I was a fan of David Beckham and Ronaldo. They were both at the height of their glory in 2002, at the World Cup.

Your favorite day ...
I love Monday. This is usually the day after match.

The day you hate the most ...
Tuesday. This is usually the day you start the workouts of the week.

Your favorite noise ...
I love the sound of the sea

A noise that you hate ...
The sound of planes.

A personality you would like to meet ...
I would love to meet Zinedine Zidane.

The biggest in football star in Japan ...
The greatest Japanese footballer of all time is undoubtedly Hidetoshi Nakata.

Define your style of play ...
I fight constantly. In duels, the recovery of the ball. I am a fighter, in the good sense of the word.

Define your teammates in three words ...
They are all great personalities. There is a lot of joy and friendship in the locker room. On the other hand, after a defeat, the group is in a very bad mood.

What do you like in a match ...
It’s not original, but victory.

What you hate in a game ...
The defeat.

If you have to describe the atmosphere of the Orange Velodrome ...
She is extraordinary. I am always glad to not be playing there as an opponent. The pressure must be huge when you come to the Orange Velodrome if you do not wear the colors of the club.

Your dream for the 2018 World Cup ...
Play the most matches.

Your best memory with OM …
Our Coupe de France match against Olympique Lyonnais (2-1, in January 2017). We had won this meeting in extra time.

Your view on the city of Marseille ...
Marseille is really a beautiful city. There is the sea and the mountains. The weather is always good. It's very nice to live here. The people are very kind.

If you leave tomorrow ...
I would be very sad to leave this city and this club. I would only feel grateful to the people who trusted me. I would miss the sun a lot.
