Olympique de Marseille chained a second consecutive victory with a morale boosting 1-2 win away to Dijon FCO at Stade Gaston Gerard on Friday night.

Fresh from a 1-0 win in midweek to Bordeaux, the visitors were keen to pick up another three points and close the gap to the podium in a fixture in which they have won three times in a row in recent years.

But OM started sluggishly against Antoine Kombouare’s men with only Mario Balotelli seeing any action in the early stages. Indeed, it got worse when Jordan Marie finished off from a Steve Mandanda save to put the hosts ahead.

OM struggled to rally towards the end of the first half, but seemed rejuvenated in the second with the addition of Valere Germain to accompany Balotelli in the forward line.

Balotelli equalised for OM just after the break with a scuff shot from Thauvin’s header before Caleta-Car went close with a bullet header.

A moment of magic however pushed the game in OM’s favour. Lucas Ocampos - on a breakaway - beat Yambere withs one fine dribbling before curling an effort past the goalkeeper to seal the points.

OM go 5th after this victory and entertain Amiens SC next week at the Orange Vélodrome.
