Olympique de Marseille wrapped up its away campaign with a come from behind 2-3 victory against Toulouse FC at Stadium Municipal in the penultimate round of fixtures on Saturday evening.

Rudi Garcia’s men saw Europe go beyond their reach but against an opponent that they enjoyed a 4-0 win over in the very first round back in August, the visitors were keen on replicating another top performance against a stuttering Toulouse side.

OM started the stronger of the two in the opening exchanges but ex-Olympien Aaron Leya Iseka sprung the game into life by firing in the opening goal after 25 minutes. Iseka almost made it two in quick succession after seeing a strike hit the bar but OM put in an immediate rectification.

Less than three minutes after going behind and a minute after nearly being further adrift - Morgan Sanson had OM back on level finishing off a Luiz Gustavo pass.

OM hit the burners following that and ended the half on top. Florian Thauvin and Lucas Ocampos both saw chances saved by Goicochea while Toulouse continued to pose a threat.

As had been the case on several occasions recently, OM had a great response after the break. A cross from Thauvin was headed on by Ocampos and Hiroki Sakai rifled in a fine left footed effort to surprise the goalkeeper and send OM back in front.

Max Gradel hurled Toulouse back to parity just after the hour but substitute Clinton Njie finished off a fine centre from Sakai to push OM finally over the line and onward to the three points.

OM now play Montpellier in the final game of the season in a match that decides fifth place in the Ligue 1 standings.
