As part of its international development strategy, the LFP (French Professional Soccer League), in partnership with EA Sports – publisher of FIFA game franchise - will launch a preseason tour in the United States on July 19, called "EA Ligue 1 Games."

From July 15 to 24, 2019, Olympique de Marseille, FC Girondins de Bordeaux, Montpellier Hérault SC and AS Saint-Etienne will compete in a friendly tournament at Audi Field, the 20,000-seat home of Major League Soccer’s D.C. United.

The semifinals will be played on July 18, with the 3rd place match and the Final taking place on July 21. In the closing match of the EA Ligue 1 Games, Olympique de Marseille will play D.C. United on July 24 in Washington, D.C. The EA Ligue 1 Games will offer these four clubs the opportunity to prepare the best way for the 2019/2020 season, thanks to the infrastructure, training centers and optimal hosting conditions.

Laurent Colette, CEO of Olympique de Marseille, declared: "This U.S. tour is a novelty for our club and shows the export power of French football. We are delighted to support the French League in this bold and strategic initiative."

The tour will also be an opportunity to promote the competitiveness of Ligue 1 Conforama, and for each of the participating clubs to meet an ever-larger fan base across the Atlantic. Finally, the clubs as well as the LFP, will take advantage of the EA Ligue1 Games to reinforce their links with partners through various commercial operations.

Didier Quillot, CEO of LFP, was present today in Washington D.C. with the main representatives of each club for the EA Ligue1 Games Press Conference. He officially,  opened ticket sales for this event (ticketmaster website and app) and declared: "We are very happy and proud to be able to launch the EA Ligue 1 Games in Washington D.C. International development is the number one priority for LFP. In this context, it is important to be able to organize events such as the EA Ligue 1 Games to raise awareness of clubs and players of Ligue 1 Conforama.

“I want to thank EA Sports for its commitment to us in this ambitious new project. I also want to thank the clubs of Olympique de Marseille, Montpellier, Bordeaux and AS Saint-Etienne, for their commitment to participate to the EA Ligue1 Games.”
