A first for Florian Thauvin! The Olympique de Marseille winger was impressive in France's victory against Andorra - a Euro 2020 qualifier (0-4). Mbappé, Ben Yedder, Zouma and Thauvin were the scorers for France Just before half-time, the Olympien scored the third goal by taking a cross by Kylian Mbappé from the left side, scissor-kicking the strike inside the far post. In his tenth cap, Thauvin also delivered an assist for Wissam Ben Yedder.

Thauvin's goal scored brings back memories of the goal scored by Jean-Pierre Papin in February 1991 against Spain at the Parc des Princes. In a fixture for the 1992 European qualifiers, Papin scored the acrobatic overhead kick on a slightly deflected cross by Manuel Amoros.

REACTION | FLORIAN THAUVIN

"I am very happy. I think I'm gaining momentum in this France team. I've gained confidence little by little. I really want to thank my team-mates who put me in the best possible positions and the staff. Kylian put me in with a very good cross at the far post and the only possibility I had was to make an attempt at a scissor kick, so I tried it and it worked out. I'm happy. It's a kid's dream come true, it's something very important to me personally. I will really enjoy the moment, I am very happy. I'm happy, we had a good performance tonight. "
